In pursuing our mission, ARCOS continues to experiment with adventurous new kinds of artistic experiences—innovating everything from how we fund and create performances to where and how we bring them to audiences. As you have seen in previous updates, our ambitious endeavors have been recognized this past year by arts critics, institutions awarding grants and residencies, and, most importantly, our audiences. Here are what a few audience members had to say recently:
“Beautiful, amazing, captivating, heartfelt performances…Thanks so much for the journey tonight! ”
“If art is to invoke empathy or if it is a reflection of humanity, this piece certainly succeeds.”
“It’s Cocteau, Beckett, Brecht, Bausch…There are only a few times in my life when I sat on the edge of my seat in a theatre with every fiber of my body being thrilled. This is one of those times.”
It is to inspire these kinds of thoughts and feelings in people that we are compelled to create the work we do. Among many other sources of funding, we rely on tax-deductible donations of all sizes from individuals to continue to present affordable performances to the public. Please consider joining the movement and making your voice heard with a gift of any size today—and let people know of your support on social media with the #GivingTuesday hashtag.
Giving Tuesday (December 1) encourages us to pay it forward by supporting the nonprofits that matter to us. Join the movement!
