Rick Fisher has exhibited his artwork regionally and nationally since the 1970s, including the permanent installation of many monumental scale public sculptures (see www.rickfisherart.com). He has been awarded funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Santa Fe Arts Commission, and was recipient of the Mayor’s Recognition Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2004 .
Fisher founded and directed the CSF Sculpture Project (1990-2008), presenting annual gallery exhibitions and outdoor installations of contemporary sculpture. The Project featured the artwork of over one thousand local, regional, and national artists.
Fisher is currently working full-time on Digital Imaging, Sculpture, Prints, Site-Specific Installations, and Memorial Shrines. Formerly Full Professor and head of the College of Santa Fe Art Department’s Sculpture Program for nineteen years, Fisher also taught as Adjunct Professor at the preeminent Institute of American Indian Arts.
